Experience Teaches Us

Introduction

Before we talk about this chapter, may we define about the meaning of experience. Experience is the process of gaining knowledge or skill over a period of time through seeing and doing things rather than through studying. In The Pocket Oxford Dictionary experience is - n. 1 observation of or practical acquaintance with facts or events. 2 knowledge or skill resulting from this. 3 event or activity participated in or observed (a rare experience). - v. (-cing) 1 have experience of; undergo. 2 feel. [Latin experior -pert- try]. H. Imam Bahroni, MA, MLSc said that experience is direct personal participation or observation. 

It is also called as the totality of a person’s perceptions, feeling, and memories. Experience may also be defined as the totality of characteristics, both past and present that make up the particular quality of a person, place or people. Its main aim is to teach every human being how to live in this world.

Presentation 

 As far as we remember when we ware a child all we wanted is to have a simple life, a happy family and nice job, but as we grow older dreams are changing even plans changes. These changes are caused by the experience we have gone through, situations that we saw in people around us. 

From the dream of having a simple life we have been in a very complicated one, but we never regret the moment we were in those situations because it is the reason why and how we are became who we are now. we learned many things in life, we experienced feelings that would be hard to find and felt again. It is just a complicated one yet we loved it. To get much of experiences we must stand in our life by activities. Richard Pratt said ; “Do one more thing at the end of the day and at the end of year you’ll have done 365 more things”. Living a life is not as easy we thought it can be. 

Many twitches can scramble our quiet life. It is just a matter of strategies on how to handle everything in life. We have encountered many people, each of them softly touches our life others just passed by as if we do not exist. That is life not everybody in this whole wide world can be your friends or can be trusted. Sometimes the one you thought who can be trusted is the one who will first betray you. From that experience we learned that to trust is to risk, make sure first that what you risk worth what trust you gave. We have to think first before doing, is not it ? We admit we have been bad as what we thought we can be, but without being bad for even once in our life cannot give us a chance to change for the better. 

We can not change from being good to being better, maybe other can but for many people it would be hard. Sometimes being bad does not mean we are evilly bad, we mean it is better to be bad for good than good for the bad. Learn from the mistakes others have committed, and you don’t need to make them all yourself. To know people who fail, look at those who do nothing, because afraid of being unsuccessful. But to know successful people, look at those who persist despite failures by their experiences. 

 Life is not perfect. There is always exception to the rules. We will not deny that we broke lots of rules, family rules, house rules, school rules, friendship and relationship rules but we strongly believe that behind every broken rule there is a valid reason to consider and accept. Same as promises are made to be broken, rules are made to be obeyed but some promises are made to come true and rules are made to be broken too. 

 The feeling of acceptance and giving the acceptance are the hardest part of our lives. Just what we had felt before, should we say we had a hard time to feel the acceptance but despite of it we give the acceptance to ourselves that it would be a long process to feel the acceptance we are longing to. But then we knew that each of us pass in a situation of having a hard time to give acceptance to other people, we also knew that in such a good time acceptance will appear just like the way it should be and at the same time we knew that acceptance can not be forced, you just have to patiently wait for it. Just like what we did. Before, we have been too mean in judging life, people and even situations. 

But one thing we have learned when we had the one being judge by other people, from then on it teaches us that being too judgmental is not a good act especially if you have a good and high educational background because instead of it will bring you up, it will pull you as if you will not notice you are already at the bottom of everything. It hurts when you are being judge by people who you thought, knew you better than other people. It is the most painful feeling we ever felt. In our ears it is really hurts. 

 Loving someone and being loved by someone is the most incredible and treasured feelings you will value in your whole life. When we fall in love and felt the love too we never doubt those feelings we felt. we learned that once you learned how to loved and be loved you will do anything just for the love to work out and last forever. Fight for your love, if it worth it, let go, if it does not. 

Weighing everything about love is the hardest way of falling in love. There are many things that wrapped the word love, because we knew that when you loved, you trust, you are faithful, sincere, honest, kind and not self-centered. The words “i love you” are the heaviest and strongest feeling that could hurt us and other people too. That is why we have been careful in saying those words, because there is always a chance that we might hurt other people or maybe the person we spoke to. we learned that to avoid getting hurt and cause pain to others you must stand by what comes out in your mouth. 

Conclusion 

Fulfilling our dreams is one of our responsibilities in life. How can we be responsible if at the first place we do not have a dream at all? Dreaming and planning are the best tools to have a happy and prosperous life. Dreams will motivate you, plan will be our key to reach our dreams. Shaman Elder said ; “ If I had not experienced this myself I would not have had the tool to be able to be teacher. But I realize the tools I have gathered, the experiences I have had all help to make me what I am today. I throw nothing away that is of value, and I throw everything away that is not of value. I am ready to learn and to teach.” Experience can built motives in our self , if we get activities we can get much of experiences and these are building up our motives in our self. So if we work by great motivation, we can reach our goals. 

 Our prayers are our light, our devotion is our strength, sleep is the enemy of both, our life is the opportunity that life can give us. If we waste it, if we ignore it, we will only turn to dust. We have the potential to be what ever we want it to be. Our abilities, talents, and attributes are uniquely ours a lone. Know our self what we can do and what we can not do. For only we can make our life happy. Hang on to our dreams, no matter how difficult. Trust our self, and use our strength positively. 

Believe that by working, learning, and achieving we can reach our goals and be successful. Learn by our experience, although difficult, and we feel too harts, it is this time not for tomorrow. In next, one year until five years your experience is like a gold lesson. we knew that there is no dream that is easy to achieve, every dream comes true in our hard work, perseverance and prayers

. " مَنْ جَدَّ وَجَدَ " 

 Who want to work by hard, he can reach their success

. " إِنَّ اللّهَ لاَ يُغَيِّرُ مَا بِقَوْمٍ حَتَّى يُغَيِّرُواْ مَا بِأَنْفُسِهِمْ ٍ "

Allah changeth not the condition of a folk until they (first) change that which is in their hearts.

 " وَقالَ رَبُّكُمُ ادْعُونِي أَسْتَجِبْ لَكُمْ " 

And your Lord hath said: Pray unto me and I will hear your prayer. Lo! those who scorn My service, they will enter hell, disgraced. Without these three it will take us too long to achieve all our dreams, so why do not have it all at the same time so you would have our dreams as soon as we thought we can not have them.

SEEING GOD

1. Opening

The Prophet`s definition says, “To do what is beautiful to worship God as if you see Him, because if you do not see Him, He sees you”. Here the Prophet focuses on the attitude and intention behind the outward activity that is demanded by Islam. His point is easily understood by thinking about the way we do thing in everyday life. For example, the law tells you not to drive over the speed limit. Many people observe the law, but others observe it only because they are afraid there may be a patrol car lurking around the next bend and if a patrol car happens to be right behind them in traffic, they would not think of exceeding the limit.

The Prophet is saying that people should worship God, that is observe the Five Pillars and more generally, do everything that they do as if God were in patrol car right behind them. Even if you do not see the patrol car, you can be sure that he is employing devices that no radar detector will ever be able to foil. “God is with you wherever you are” (57:4), and there is no escape.

The attitude demanded by ihsan may be dominated by tanzih or by tashbih, or it may combine the two qualities in equal measure. In the example of the patrol car, we appealed to severity and wrath, the attributes of tanzih. “The sultan is the shadow of God”. That is, God viewed as king and commander. The police are the arms of the sultan, the strict enforces of the law. From this perspective, people worship God because of fear of the consequence if they do not follow the commands that he has issued. They are the Lord`s servants and must obey him on penalty of prison Sijjin, the lowest pit of hell.

But not all activity is motivated by fear. It often happens that people do things out of love and the wish to be close to the object of their love. Then the motivation is a hope and a trust that is rooted in the attributes of tashbih, such as mercy, gentleness, and bounty. When a young man does everything his girlfriend asks him to do, it may be that he is motivated by his desire to marry her. He has a goal in mind that he wants to achieve. What is certain is that he will act differently if she is right there with him, or if she has gone off with her family on vacation. Naturally, when the girlfriend is not around, the boy`s efforts relax. But when she returns, his effort increase.

  In these two example, the motivation for activity is fear of loss and hope for gain. But many Muslims authorities maintain that worshiping God as if you see him means that you forget all thought of either loss or gain. It is sufficient that God is Real and the servant unreal. One must, in other words, have no thought of oneself whatsoever, and think only about God. This is the perfection of remembering God dhikr. It is one thing to remember someone who is far away, and quite another to remember a person who is present. By living in God's presence, one not only remembers God constantly, but one cannot possibly forget him.

The definition of ihsan says that you should worship God ''as if you see Him, for, if you do not see Him, nonetheless He sees you''. He sees you because He is with you wherever you are. But notice that the definition says, ''if you do not see Him''. What if you do see Him? That is the goal of worship. Then, without question, one's worship will be for God's sake alone.

How does one see God? This is a complex issue, one that has been discussed and debated throughout Islamic history. Briefly, we can say that the authorities have answered the question differently depending upon whether their perspective was dominated by tanzih or tashbih. The Kalam experts, who stress tanzih, rejected the possibility of seeing God in this world, although most of them accepted that he can and will be seen in the next world. In contrast, the Sufis, who stress tashbih, said that is what possible to see God in this world, not with the eye of the head, but with the eye of the heart. Most of them, howeher, said that people can never, whether in this world or the next world, see God as he sees himself: They can only see God to the extent that he chooses to show himself to them. If “He is with you wherever you are,” then you can see him inasmuch as he is with you, but you cannot necessarily see him as he appears to others or the angels, and certainly not as he appears to himself.

2. Evidence of Proof of Existence of God

In our opinion a form of god first problem of all is the problem of consciousness. Humans have a certain awareness about the form itself and its own essence, and not empty of "consciousness" that sure about the greatest manifestation and nature of the universe, because it relates to this form even rely on his form.

Consciousness and reason are not opposites, although knowledge (achievement) is more common than the common consciousness, because consciousness is taken and the essence (substance) the whole man, from birth and she thought, what the conscious and unconscious, but awareness was located in humans in a way unclear and need to detail and interpretation.

We misunderstood the reason itself, when we understand that the reason itself, when we understand that the reason it is limited to the talent analyze, divide and divide, and that he did not do work that includes, except by way of logic and presentation category provisions of the mind and the conclusions and the establishment by the arguments of mind by way of the well known.

If intuition mind says, "Yes there is no God", then these words have value in view of (thinking) man, that not less than the value of logic and syllogism, because the value is the value of life in which reason and logic do not come back syllogism to sources other than the source of sense-life or the foundation is stronger than the foundation of the common life.

Global Intellect forever closer to the faith and closer to the words "Yes" in the search for God, is the category of logic can not say "No" with certainty and reject in this issue. [1]

3. Conclusion

One can say that the goal of ihsan is to worship God while actually seeing him. The significance of this goal becomes clear when we remember that the vision of God is the highest bliss of paradise. Nothing in the next world can compare with seeing God. So also, nothing in this world can be compared with the vision of God that is achieved through true ihsan.

Importance Of Science

We are living in an age of science.Now we will see the producth of science, at home, abroad, in the street, market and pleasure house, the evidence of science is universal.Science has changed life in many important ways. If our ancestors were to visit our world. Science has shaped our ways of living. We see the effects of science more clearly in our means of transport and communications, railways, aeroplanes; radios. These all, are some of the most common gifts of science to mankind.

In days before science, people lived different lives. They were at the mercy of the elements of nature. Earth, air, fire and water were worshipped a gods because they ruled the life most powerfully.We were afraid of these element. We were helpless when floods came or when tempests set in. in other words mankind would not know the law of nature and not knowing these law, they were unable to govern nature. It is only by laws that anything is ruled., controlled and governed. Not until man discovered these laws of nature. When we apply these laws to produce things, we call this method and technology. Our world today is most definitely shaped by science and technology.

Science is product of reason. It is the enemy of superstition and sentiment. It is concerned with discovery of the cause of things. In anything happens the scientists begin to find out how it came about. In the absence of science, people gave fanciful reason for such happenings. If a person suffering from fever, students of medical science find out the cause of this fever by studying the physiology of human bodies. And so is with several other aspect of our life.

Science, therefore, means, systematic knowledge of cause. Science does not depend upon the use of our sense. Our sense are limited in their range and capacity. For exemple we do not see with our eyes how water is formed. It is using by instruments that we came to know that it is made up of oxygen and hydrogen. The instruments for observing measuring and analyzing are the means by which science proceeds to find out to true nature of things.

It is imposible to exaggrate the importance of science. It is greatest importance is seen in the control of natursl forces, and in the use of these for raising our standards of living. Even for bare mention of the brances of science it is enough to tell us how valuable is the contribution of science. Physics, chemistry, Biology, botany, medical science, Engineering, technology, Astronomy, and Mathematics are some of the most importance brances of science. And nowadays we have gained a good deal from the aplication of scientific methodes in the study of the subjects. So the physical, mental, moral and social sciences together from the a body knowledge which we apply in making life confortable, prosperous and happy.

If i were a poet i would sing the song of the science and it giftsto mankind. I would say that science has given eyes to the blind., ears to the deaf and speech to the dumb. It has freed us from epidemics like plague, cholera andsmall pox. It has freed our fields and gardens from pest and sterility. It has lengthened the duration of individual human life. It has increased production of all sort of goods. It has bridged rivers and controlled floods and famines. It has conquered distances. We have conquered space and time. We can communicate with the remotest corner of the earth. We can fly like bird and swim like fish. We can tame deserts and turn them into green fields and gaedens. We can bring wasteland under cultivation. We can bring light from the heavens. We can build huge powerhouses, which supply electricity. We can equip factories in such a way that all that we need can be manufactured there in.

By appliying scientific dicoveeries to agriculture and industry, we can remove poverty, ignorance and disease. We can educate everyone and give them means of enriching their lives. In sort, science can be use to create all the wealth we need.

These are some of the physical and material of the advantages we get from science and it is aplication of  life. But there is still more important value of science. It is the gift of mental freedom. This is its greatest of the mankind. Science frees our minds from the bondage of superstition and ignorance. Our mind be ignorance, which is our chief enemy. Knowledge gives power. Igrnorance causes weakness. We suffer when we are ignorant. We enjoy when we know. The habits of reasoning., inquring and questioningis the greatest gift of science. It is this dispassionate, rational outlook, which tell us the causes of all things. This is emancipation of the humand mind from the error of ignorance. We see clearly when we think scintifically. We do this when we control our passion, prejudices, and sentiments. I do not suggest that passion is not good or important. They are so. But we must not use them in knowing things. We will never know the truth of things unless we see them dispassionately. It is the clear light of reason that show the truth of things.

Science, thus, is blessing to mankind. It increases our power over nature and helps us to raise our standard of life. The world of science is world of order, effeciency and plenty. It frees us from wants by supplying our need. In addition, it makes our mind free from our superstition, prejudice and passion. In this way, science givves  us both phisycal and mental benefits. Our bodies as as our mind become fed and developed. Wecan live a very confortable life with benefits of science.

But the science has danger. We are not merely bodies and minds. We are spirit and soul as well as bodies and minds. We fell and imagine and dream as well as chat, sleep reason and think. It is precisely because we have hearts and souls that we are truly human. We are man with sparks of the divine soul in our make up. Unless we live a life in which hearts and soul are fed and developed equally with our bodies, we will be come at best well fed and well clothed, two legged animals. Now how does science affect our heart and soul?

To put it simply, science stares our hearts and souls. The reason for this are that science can not work unless feelings and passion are completely controlled. Our hearts do not get any exercises when we become scintific in our outlook. It is law of  life that those part, which are not exercised, will grow weak and may be even destroyed. So it is our hearth and soul in a world ruled by science. That is why religious and beliefs become discredited in the world of science. Our faith in god and spirit becomes weak and finaly destroyed.We develop our heads and brains and we weaken our heart and soul. This great tragedy. Such thingsas kidness, love, devotion, worship, and compassion do not develop in a world which is wholly given to science. This accounts for the misery of mankind even today.

Science and reason tell us that we can and do create wealth. But we see that even in our world of science there is widespread poverty and suffering. Not only this, we are today in the grip of a very terrible fear. We are terrible afraid of atomic wars.Why should we be thus afraid? Because men are drunk with power which science has given them. Power born of science is dangerous if it is not rulled by love, wisdom and compassion. Power without wisdom is tyranny. It is dangerous to give sharp weapon in the hands of an ignorant or foolish baby. Men without religion and love are such babies. They are grants in power and abuse their power like grants. It is a terrible thing to think ofthis state of affairs. Yes it is true picture of our age and of science. Some one said that the scientist produces and aero plane, but the monkey in use takes charge of it is driving! This is a good description of the world of science, which does not value such things as goodness, love and wisdom.

We do not mean by this that science must be stopped. It can not be done even if we wish to do so. But we do mean that that power born of science must be conrolled and used for the benefit of mankind. If we do not do this, we will worse than we were in days before science. We must organize power and use it for good purpose. But we must first see that power and is not generated before we are sure of it is use for good purpose.What is the use of doing everything scientifically. Is fighting and killing scientifically is also included in it? This is in fact what we are doing in this age of science. We kill most scientifically. We prepare atomic bombs, which are very scientific in destruction. Unless we learn to use power creatively, we must not let science produce any power at all.

So the importance of science is granted on all hands. There is no doubt that science can make our world heavenly. It can turn our earth into paradise. It can control nature and create great power and wealth. But it is lasting equally important to train and control human nature, which is to use power, created by science. So we must develop our moral political and social sciences along with our physical and and biological science. This is the only solution for the problems created by science. Science, physical science, creates power but it also creates problems. These problems are problems of war and domination. We can meet and solve these problems only by training our hearts and soul along with our brains and bodies. Only when we have done this we can say that science is a blessing.

Optimism

There are in the world two types of men who have two distinct attitudes  towards  life, some men always look to the bright side of life ,they are full of hope and are not easily cowed by disapointment and failure in life. They are the optimist. And they are others who always look to the seamy side of life.they are full of disgust with life .they would put wrong construction on every little incident of life and read into the curse of god.they are pessimist.an optinist is sometimes defined as one who believes  that this worldis the best of all possible worlds . while a pessimists is described  as one who believes that this world is the worst of all possible world.

In every age and every land , there have been optimists  as well as pessimists  in every literature , these two  views on life have developed and expressed  themselves in different accents . but  if we read a right story of the world , we find that in some nations optimism is the dominant note ,while others develop a pessimistic bias.

Iqbal ,has been pointed out ,has been profoundly influenced by the philosophy of the great German poet philosopher ,Goethe . optimism; it always triumph over pessimism and cynicism. The famous German philosopher Leibnitz was the first to express in philosophical terms the optimistic view to life , and Schopenhauer  was the first German philosopher in the West to built his philosophy on pessimism .In their  philosophical bearings. He concludes the inquiry with the remark that optimism and pessimism are deep rooted tendencies of the human mind and that both are needed for social uplift, the former pointing to an ideal and the letter critically examining the means to that end.

In our view , optimism is two kind ; first , there is the easy , self complacent variety of optimism which always foolishly believes that something good will finally come out of evil . Those who hold this kind of optimism view on life often say that whatever god does he does the best .

Secondly, there is the reasoned  types of optimism, founded on discretion and wisdom. Careful consideration of consideration fact and balanced conclusion reached in the end. The second types of optimism characterizes as a wise man’s attitude towards life.

At the conclusion of the first world war in 1918, when the league of nation was set up , people become optimistic about the future of the world ; they thought that eternal life would dawn . with the declaration or the second war in 1939 , people relapsed into pessimism and lost faith in the league of nation . again, with the setting up of the United Nation Organization , the nation of the world , great and small , are in the full tide of faith and hope and optimism . Hopes with fears, joys with  sorrow. Life is , in fact , a long struggle ; dark and difficult is the ways .

The crown of success is at the journey’s   end . Optimism and pessimism   are , indeed , relative term ; one cannot exist without something of the other.  The   sufferings of misfortune drive the weaker mind into pessimism ; and the pessimist votes life a failure . but the stronger  folk  in the world are in majority ; they look facts in the face , weigh them into balance and at the long last developed the reasoned optimism, which is to them a source of never – failing strength and inspiration , if possible, best is the optimist’s constant urge  as well as aspiration

Terjemahan dari The Value Of Discipline

 Kata "disiplin" berarti seorang sarjana atau pengikut. Dalam kata klasik kuno, ditandai seseorang yang terpasang dirinya seorang pemimpin rohani, melayani dia dan belajar untuk dia. Inti dari pikiran itu bahwa mengakui satu keunggulan dan kebesaran pada orang lain, dan diserahkan bersedia untuk kepemimpinan dan bimbingan.

            Hampir tidak ada bidang kehidupan manusia yang tidak disiplin berlaku. Anak dan pemuda di rumah tunduk kepada bimbingan orang tua dari sekolah atau perguruan tinggi, untuk kepemimpinan guru-gurunya. Dalam agama ia mematuhi interaksi para pemimpin spiritual dan di negara orang yang telah terpilih untuk posisi otoritas di negara tersebut harus dipatuhi. Kata lain, manusia adalah makhluk tunduk kepada hukum dan ketertiban. Dalam sebuah komunitas demokratisasi, manusia memiliki suara dalam pembuatan hukum, sehingga disipli  yang menyampaikan adalah membuat sendiri.

            Kebesaran orang itu, atas segala sesuatu hidup lainnya, muncul dari fakta bahwa ia mampu mengatur dirinya sendiri. Ini adalah hal yang buruk jika, dalam hutan dekat rumah kita, harus ada sejumlah hewan liar. Betapa akan lebih buruk jadinya jika mereka mampu membuat serangan mereka pada pria sesuai dengan rencana terorganisir, di bawah pemimpin! Tidak semua orang mampu yang terkemuka dan inspring bangsa: orang besar lahir hanya ketika hal-hal besar panggilan untuk dia. Ketika seorang pemimpin besar muncul, itu adalah tugas pria untuk mengenalinya, untuk tunduk padanya, dan mengikuti dia sampai mati jika perlu. Jika seseorang mengikuti jarak kodrat individual mereka sendiri, tidak ada masyarakat, bangsa tidak, dan tidak ada sistem.

            Sebuah sekolah yang baik adalah satu di mana adalah ada disiplin baik, hal yang sama adalah benar dari resimen yang baik. Itu tidak berarti sebuah sekolah di bawah kepala sekolah te berat dan kejam, atau resimen bawah komandan otokratis dan keras. Semacam disiplin jenis tertentu dapat dicapai melalui rasa takut dan kekuatan, tetapi itu adalah jenis salah. disiplin yang baik adalah yang diterima secara bebas oleh semua murid, karena mereka tahu yang sehat dan adil.

            Disiplin terbesar dari semua adalah bahwa yang pribadi; itu ada di dalam individu. hati kami mengatakan kepada kita bahwa hal yang baik, tetapi keinginan alam kita mencari sesuatu yang lain, beberapa kepuasan indera, yang dari bagian bawah manusia. Dalam hal hati, jiwa, harus dilatih untuk mengalahkan indra dan membawa disiplin ke dalam negara manusia.
